Calculating Supplemental Sprinklers

The concept of “Supplemental Sprinklers” was introduced in the 2025 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. The new requirements help to clarify legacy requirements that were inferred throughout the standard and create more options for designers to tackle challenging layout schemes in storage and non-storage occupancies.
