The 2019 edition of NFPA 13 is a complete reformat of the previous editions. This webinar will provide an overview of the new format and how to use the reorganized document. It will also include a review of the major technical revisions included in the new edition.
This webinar is part 1 in a 4-part series on the 2019 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. Part 2 will be on the seismic updates, part 3 will be on storage changes, and part 4 will be on attics and concealed spaces.

Russ Leavitt is the Executive Chairman of Telgian Corporation. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Russ holds a Level IV certification from NICET in Water-Based Systems Layout, and is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist. He is a licensed contractor with over 37 years of experience in the design, installation, and testing of fire protection systems. Russ currently serves on the NFPA Board of Directors, and as chair of the Technical Committee on Sprinkler System Discharge Criteria. He also sits on a number of other NFPA Technical Committees including NFPA 13 Installation Technical Committee and NFPA 25. Russ is a long time senior instructor for AFSA and has authored a number of articles and training materials, including AFSA’s ITM Inspector Development Program and the online hydraulic calculations series.
