It has long been acknowledged that research and development continue in between the published editions of an NFPA standard that advance fire protection and fire safety. These advances often result in the introduction of a new product or technology that is not addressed in the current edition of the standard. The New Technology, and Equivalency sections of NFPA 13 are intended to facilitate the development of better system performance and more effective new products by allowing for their use with proper supporting documentation.
This webinar will explore the history of the new technology provisions in the standards and the technologies and products that have been introduced prior to inclusion in the requirements of the standard.
