This is a 2-part series. To be considered as an AFSA apprenticeship trainer, you must also register for and attend part 2 of this workshop.
It’s time to put your knowledge and experience to work training the next generation of fire sprinkler fitters and technicians. Remember, one of the most important aspects of training new installers is the fact that you may be working side by side with them and, in some cases down the road, working for one or more of them. So train them right! Develop the mindset and expectations for the apprenticeship program. This session will address specific qualities needed for trainers to be successful in this program.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Identify basic methods information is received.
- Describe language of communication — how people learn.
- Describe the importance of teamwork and the need to continue to absorb new information.
- Identify students’ training needs.
- Create an active, engaging learning environment.
- Manage difficult participants and tough topics.
